We are currently recruiting for an exceptional, fun-loving junior tax accountant to join our awesome team. This role would be suitable for a return-to-work parent or student who has had previous experience in public practice, with the opportunity to progress from part-time to full-time in the future.

Based in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, the primary purpose of this position is to provide the effective delivery of accounting and tax services for a diverse range of clients.

Reporting to the Head of Tax your daily role & responsibilities would include:

  • Providing accounting and tax consulting services to a diverse portfolio of clients,
  • Preparation of tax returns for individuals, sole traders, trusts, companies and SMSFs
  • Payroll & BAS services to clients. Some bookkeeping may be required
  • Management/finance report preparation, including the ability to provide meaningful & relevant insights to assist clients
  • Proactively liaising with clients on a regular basis
  • Assisting the Head of Tax & clients with adhoc tasks e.g. systems implementations

  • Have or be studying towards an accounting qualification
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

  • The ability to work in a team, assisting other consultants as and when required
  • Strong administrative skills
  • The ability to pick up new software and concepts quickly
  • Experience with Xero accounting software is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Driven by delivering results and solutions, being innovative and lateral thinking to ensure our clients receive the best possible service and advice
  • Professional, ethical and show integrity at all times, both with clients and team members

To be successful in this role you will have previous accounting & tax return preparation experience within another public practice firm in Australia.

Permanent Part-time – initially 3 days per week (22.5 hours) with the possibility of moving to 4-5 days in the future, as the firm grows. This role would therefore suit a working parent or student.

This is not a remote job, and whilst we offer work from home opportunities, we would require the successful candidate to be present in our office in Brookvale on Sydney Northern Beaches as required. Further, some regular travel to clients may be required. Our office is near public transport and Warringah Mall.
