Julie joined Mukiwa in July 2018 after more than 20 years in the financial services industry.
Originally from New Zealand, Julie studied business management and accounting but took up an opportunity to start her career in the IT industry utilising her previous studies to move into operations management for a computer bureau.
Julie’s life in Australia began after attending a computer course in Sydney and the desire to travel made Sydney first ….and actually last stop. Great job opportunities in IT operations management roles both at Digital (now HP) and an integral role with CALM launching the first online livestock auction system kept her feet on solid ground.
Computer consulting while being a mum kept her skills solid and a return to work administration role for a financial services company sparked an interest in the industry while implementing an online portfolio management system. The relationship with Financial Success progressed to office and then practice management spanning more than 20 years and allowed Julie the opportunity to manage small business. A company merger in 2014 with a combined wealth and accounting firm gave Julie the opportunity to take on the role of Business Manager and experience the accounting practice world first hand.
Julie’s love of her Northern Beaches home has seen her actively involved as a volunteer with North Curl Curl Surf Lifesaving Club since 1998 assisting with the administration of both Nippers and then 13 years with the Board of Directors after implementing process and subsequently taking on the Director of Administration role.
Mukiwa has fulfilled Julie’s desire for a sea change. Her previous experience, commitment to clients and understanding of small business is a great fit for our team.
