We are based in Brookvale on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. This is a varied role with the primary purpose of this position to manage the bookkeeping team & ensure the effective delivery of bookkeeping & BAS services for a range of clients, whilst assisting with and taking an active role in the management of the overall business.

Reporting to the Managing Director your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing & supporting the bookkeeping team and a diverse range of bookkeeping & BAS clients,
  • Taking responsibility for the overall management & compliance deadline obligations of our bookkeeping portfolio of clients
  • Bookkeeping, BAS & payroll duties for a portfolio of clients; including:
  • Coding of bank transactions and performing monthly/quarterly bank reconciliations
  • Sales invoicing & debtor management
  • Coding purchase invoices, processing payments as required
  • Payroll
  • Fixed asset register maintenance
  • Correctly coding transactions for GST
  • Supporting the Tax & Accounting team,
  • Proactively liaising with clients on a regular basis,
  • Actively participating in the management of the business as a member of the ‘management group’
  • Assisting the managing director & clients with adhoc tasks e.g. systems implementations.
  • Assisting with in-house procedures, including invoicing, processing credit card payments etc

  • Have or be studying towards a Cert IV in Bookkeeping (or similar)

  • The ability to work in a team, assisting other consultants as and when required
  • The ability to manage a small team, including scheduling of bookkeeping commitments, meeting deadlines and maintaining and improving process
  • Strong administrative skills
  • The ability to pick up new software and concepts quickly
  • Experience with Xero accounting software is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Driven by delivering results and solutions, being innovative and lateral thinking to ensure our clients receive the best possible service and advice
  • Professional, ethical and show integrity at all times, both with clients and team members

To be successful in this role you will have previous bookkeeping experience, preferably within another bookkeeping or accounting firm.

Some travel to clients may be required.

Permanent Part-time – 4 days per week (30 hours) – future possibility to full-time

Salary up to FTE  $120K (incl Superannuation) pro-rata
